TeamTreks web site
Teamtreks.com offers free learning adventure and integrated learning for grades 4-7. This session will demonstrate TeamTreks: Glacier Bay and will show how the cost-effective teacher toolkits can customize content and gameplay and track student performance.
With a Team Leader account, teachers can create classroom additional activities, customize the game content, track student game performance, and report on performance correlated to National Standards. With a Team Leader account , teachers also have access to the Classroom Integration Guides, reproduciable and digital maps, flash and PDF versions of the TeamTreks Kayak Handbook and the Glacier Wildlife Guidebook, and a PDF appendix of all comprehension questions
In TeamTreks: Glacier Bay, players join three teammates to earn their TeamTreks Kayak Certification. They’re flown in and dropped off near Glacier Bay, Alaska. They need to navigate back to the TeamTreks cabin before someone calls a rescue. They develop essential "real-life" skills: gathering information, applying knowledge, analyzing situations, and making decisions. They hone their skills in teamwork and decision-making, map-reading and navigation, reading comprehension, mathematics, life sciences, and history.
